Time Warner Cable on Saturday will announce the launch of Digital Phone, a new cable service that offers consumers a new choice in residential phone service.
The service allows customers to make unlimited local, in-state and long-distance calls in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for as low as $39.95 a month when the service is bundled with one of Time Warner Cable’s “All The Best” packages.
The service features a low, flat-rate price and includes many popular calling features, such as caller ID, call waiting, three-way calling and call forwarding at no additional charge. The company also provides voicemail service for an additional $3.95 a month.
“The market growth opportunity for this service is very promising and strengthens the overall product offerings to Time Warner Cable customers,” said Russ Pomfrey, general manager of Time Warner Cable here. “Digital Phone presents a high-quality choice in telephone through the use of new technology.”
Consumers switching to Digital Phone can keep their phone number from their existing phone company and retain their directory listing at no extra charge. Standard features of the service include 411 directory assistance, 611 service calls, enhanced 911 emergency service, operator-assisted calls and the ability to view call detail records online.
Reliability and safety are two driving principles of Time Warner Cable’s Digital Phone service. Since its launch, Digital Phone has delivered enhanced 911 emergency service to all of its customers automatically and at no additional charge.
Time Warner Cable is a member of the National Emergency Number Association’s e-911 Next Generation Partnership Program and is committed to supporting the Emergency Number Professional Leadership program.
