The Ashland Alliance is accepting registrations for its 28th Annual Community Leadership Development Program. The theme is “Bridging the Gap: Take the Lead in Our Community.”
The program will take place Sept. 7, 12, 19, 26 and Oct. 3 and 10, with a workshop and graduation luncheon on Oct. 17.
Each day will feature different behind-the-scenes explorations of business, government, education and cultural aspects of the community. It is presented through speakers, forums, field trips, training exercises and other activities.
Participation is limited to 40. No applications will be accepted after Sept. 5.
Call the alliance at (606) 324-5111 for more information or to register. Cost is $199 for alliance members or $225 for nonmembers. Fees include breakfast, lunch, transportation, materials and a certificate of completion.

Cardinal Management, Ltd., announced awards received by two of its multifamily housing managers at the annual Multifamily Housing Management Conference on May 15 through 17 in Louisville.
‰Debbie Buckley, manager of Bruce I and II apartments, was awarded Manager of The Year-Small Elderly Housing.
‰Kathy Howard, manager of Hillcrest Apartments, was honored for excellence in Outstanding Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System and Voucher Payments Processing.
Both awards were presented by Kentucky Housing Corp. and the State Office of the Department of Housing & Urban Development at the annual Multifamily Housing Management Conference.

Ohio University’s Travel and Tourism and Business Management Technologies departments will host “Carnival College: A Personal Professional Selling the Funship Way” at 6 p.m. Aug. 16 in Room 180 of the Riffe Center at OU Southern.
Joan Fields, area business development manager for Carnival Cruise Lines, will focus on increasing product knowledge, improving personal selling skills and techniques, along with marketing and growing a business through group and incentive cruise sales.
The presentation is geared for the traditional store front or home-based travel agent, cruise-only agent or those interested is discovering how to profit from selling vacations at sea.

Representatives with Creative Financial Solutions, 807 S. Third St., Ironton, have announced the Ashland chapter of its series of money groups for women will meet today from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Giovanni’s Pizza at 724 Greenup Ave. The event is free.
