King’s Daughters Medical Center’s Emergency Department recently earned superior customer satisfaction marks from Press Ganey, the leader in health care satisfaction measurement.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year, which includes October through December 2006, KDMC’s emergency department scored in the county’s top 1 percent for overall customer satisfaction. Press Ganey customer satisfaction scores are derived from surveys completed by patients.
“It is an honor to work with such dedicated team members,” said Nickie Hess, R.N., director of emergency services. “They’re equally committed to delivering the highest quality care and the very best customer service.”
With more than 6,200 visits each month, KDMC’s emergency department is one of the busiest in the state. Last year, more than 72,400 patients visited the medical center’s emergency department, which features 35 beds, as well as a 10-bed express care unit that provides after-hours treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.
