Frances Hall Brownstein has joined the Thoroughbred Insurance Agency Inc. at 1430 Winchester Ave., Ashland.
She is a licensed life and health insurance agent.
The agency handles long-term care, disability, life, annuities and health insurance.

Catherine Napier, a 1964 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, has been appointed by Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico to his National Presidential Exploratory Fundraising Steering Committee.
She is a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth with a master’s degree in counseling and did post graduate work at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. She worked for two years with the governor’s drug programs in New Mexico until 2005 and is in private practice in Albuquerque.
Her new assignment with Richardson will be for two years.

Denis C. Chabot, PE, has been chosen as recipient of the 2006 Engineer of the Year Award by the Engineers Club of Huntington.
He is an environmental engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He has served as an adjunct professor of engineering at the University of Kentucky and Ashland Community and Technical College and at Marshall University.
He is a member of the club and served as president in 1989, 1999 and 2006. He coordinated continuing education programs in engineering and edited and photographed for the club newsletter Enginews.
