AK calling workers back

— About 100 hourly workers are expected to return to AK Steel this week, according to company spokesman Alan McCoy.
Another 125 to 130 will follow the next week.
The company hopes to call back all the workers laid off in November.
The company, which began calling back workers earlier in January, had laid them off when it idled the blast furnace in November.
The idling was attributed to the sharp downturn in the economy and the resulting drop in steel orders.
The plant mostly supplies steel used in making automobiles.
