Danny Duncan, a longtime employee of The Independent, has taken the position of advertising director at The Morehead News.
Duncan began working in the newspaper industry in 1962 as a paper carrier for The Ashland Daily Independent. His career continued in several aspects on the advertising side of The Independent until his promotion to the Morehead News Group on Jan. 2. The Independent and Morehead News Group are both owned by Community Newspaper Holidays, Inc., based in Birmingham, Ala.
Duncan and his wife, Debra Cooper Duncan, have two children, Sharon and Danny. He has an associate degree from Ashland Community College and attended Marshall University and Morehead State University. He is a member of the Grace Nazarene Church in Ashland and serves as the head of trustees on the church’s board.
He’s also won multiple awards for his advertising promotions.
