PORTSMOOUTH — William “Bill” and Lois Norine Clay Clary will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 17, 2012, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Holiday Inn, 711 Second St., Portsmouth, hosted by their children and family.

The couple were married Nov. 17, 1962, at the South Shore Church of God by Pastor Calvin Nichols. Following a honeymoon in Chico, Calif., they have always resided in South Shore and Schultz Creek.

Mr. Clary has been a property valuation administrator for the past 27 years and was employed 17 years with Empire Detroit Steel in Portsmouth. He is a member of South Shore Masonic Lodge. Mrs. Clary is the previous owner of Southern Shores Boutique of South Shore and Greenup and is a retired state employee. Mr. and Mrs. Clary are both graduates of McKell High School, class of 1961, and both have been active members of the Alben Barkley Democratic Club for the past 47 years. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
