RUSSELL — William H. and Juanita Vanhorn Vallance of 236 Seaton Drive in Russell celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary July 15 at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Betty Vallance of 520 Etna St..

The Vallances were married July 15, 1948, in First Baptist Church of Ashland by the Rev. M.C. Denny. Kitty Mullins was her sister’s maid of honor. Dewey White was best man.

Mr. Vallance is the son of the late John Hubert and Margaret Williams Vallance.  He is retired from the Raceland Car Shops, where he had 40 years of service as an electric department foreman. He has been a pastor for 58 years in various Baptist churches in the area and recently retired from Ashland Baptist Church. He is a past master of Russell Masonic Lodge 775.

Mrs. Vallance is the daughter of the late Herbert and Emma Jordan Vanhorn. She has worked with young people in the church for 45 years in both Sunday school and youth choirs. She has taught adult Sunday school classes and is a member of the adult choir.

The Vallances are the parents of a son, William A. Vallance. They have two grandchildren, Scott Vallance and Michelle Robinson, and four great-grandchildren, Laekin Vallance, Brady Vallance, Katie Vallance and Taylor Marie Robinson.
