SOUTH SHORE —
Carl and Ann Worthington of South Shore will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Jan. 16.
They were married Jan. 16, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Wurtland. The late Elder Clyde Stephens officiated the marriage.
Mr. Worthington is the son of the late Arthur and Grace Worthington.
He is retired as project engineer from Florida Power and Light and U.S. Army Signal Corp.
Mrs. Worthington is the daughter of the late Willis J. Everman and Myrtle Everman.
She is a homemaker and writes poetry that has been published in The Independent.
They are both members of Siloam Baptist Church.
They are the parents of a daughter, Kimberly J. Singleton and her husband, Gene, of Concord, N.C.; grandparents of two grandsons, Sean Singleton, a computer tech in New York, and Adam Singleton, who is in the U.S. Navy deployed in Spain, and his wife, Kristy, who resides in Hampton, Va.. They also are great-grandparents to Allison Bailey and Benjamin Gene Singleton of Hampton.
The couple will celebrate in the spring.
