Raymond and Beulah Burchwell of Greenup will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Aug. 14, 2007.
They were married in Greenup on Aug. 14, 1957, by the Rev. David Melvin.
Mr. Burchwell is the son of the late Albert and Dova Rowe Burchwell. He attended the Greenup County school system and retired as a carman from C&O in 1982.
Mrs. Burchwell is the daughter of the late Clarence and Carrie Belle Belford Boyles. She also attended the Greenup County school system and worked as a waitress at Gamble’s Restaurant and Zachem’s Restaurant, which were formerly in Greenup, and the Williams Shoe Factory in Portsmouth, Ohio. She also was a cook in the Argillite school system.
Mr. and Mrs. Burchwell are the parents of Gary W. Burchwell and his wife, Francis, who live in Ypsilanti, Mich., Beverly Burchwell Caudill and her husband, Fred, who live in West Chester, Ohio, and Brenda Burchwell Shannon and her husband, Larry, who live in Ashland. The Burchwells have eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of their golden anniversary in the fellowship hall of the Raccoon Freewill Baptist Church on Ky. 2, Greenup, on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m.
They have requested only presence rather than presents.
