Local singer announces plans for holiday show

ASHLAND A night of dinner, entertainment and silent auction opportunities also will benefit the Tri-State.

The seventh annual Stephen Salyers’ Sounds of Christmas benefit concert will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 19 at Bellefonte Country Club. The event benefits the Billy Ray Cyrus Foundation.

“At a time when our country rebuilds its economic status, it is important that our local communities continue to support the needs of the children’s charitable organizations so that they don’t suffere this Christmas,” Salyers said. “This year, I’m taking the event to a whole new level by inviting my friends from Nashville to help boost ticket sales.”

The Billy Ray Cyrus Foundation benefits CASA, Hope’s Place, Huntington and Ironton city missions. Huntington Ronald McDonald House and Toys for Tots, among other charities.

Entertainment will be provided by Salyers and friends Joshua Scott Jones and Meghan Linsey of Steel Magnolias, the group that recently won the CMT show “Can You Duet.” The group has signed a record deal with Big Machine Records.

Host of the event is WSAZ news reporter Randy Yohe. Chairman and chairwoman are Brent and Stephanie Clark.
