ASHLAND Tonight’s First Friday Art Walk events will include music in the street at 6 p.m. by ETA and at 7:15 p.m. by The Genuine Junk Band.

ETA consists of Eddie Riffe and Tony Maynard performing acoustic tunes and making wisecracks.

The Genuine Junk Bank is known as one of the top jam bands in the area. Members include Mary Gillum, lead vocals; Ian Caldwell, guitar; Nathan Gillum, guitar, piano, mandolin and vocals; Chris Justice, bass; and Dave Knipp, drums.

In addition, the following art venues will offer a variety of activities:

‰The Art of the Redeemed Studio and Gallery continues its exhibit titled “Toothpick Constructions” by Les Hayes. The gallery is in Suite 206, second floor of the Camayo Arcade, 1536 Winchester Ave. In addition, works by Gail Kirtz and Rodney Chapman are on display.

The studio and gallery are handicapped accessible with an elevator and open by appointment.

‰An exhibit by the Kentucky Creative Arts Club opens at the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center. In addition, displays include “Presidential Pursuits: A collection of First Lady’s Gowns;” “Digging Deeper: Prehistoric man in the Ohio River Valley;” “Mr. Lincoln’s War: The Civil War in Eastern Kentucky;” “Steel Rails;” and “The Legacy of Jean Thomas.”

‰“Image of Appalachia,” a collection of more than 60 black-and-white photographs of eastern Kentucky and West Virginia from the 1920s and 1930s, is on display at the Jesse Stuarat Foundation. Also open is “The Leming Gallery,” a collection of reminiscences reflected in the work of local artists Jim Marsh, Steve McClements, Billy Kersey, Buzzy Leming and Carolina Wilson.

‰Artists will be available at their studios in the Pendleton Art Center to visit with the public and sell their works.

‰Tri-State Area photographer Laura Moul will be featured at The Upstairs Gallery. A new collection of art by gallery members will be shown.
