ASHLAND —
Various art venues in Ashland will participate in the Friday Friday Art Walk tonight, among them:
‰“Strangers Whose Faces I Know,” an exhibit of paintings by the ACTCs art instructor Wendy Fosterwelsh, continues at the Ann David Gallery.
The gallery is at 1516 Winchester Ave. (606) 324-1296.
Hours: Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment.
‰Art of the Redeemed, in Suite 206 on the second floor of the Camayo Arcade, 1536 Winchester Ave., continues to show “Toothpick Constructions” by Les Hayes, which include a replica of his home, the Spider Web House, Cracker Barrel restaurants, the old Russell High School, houses, barns, churches and depots, as well as new impressionistic landscapes and seascapes in oil by Gail Kirtz and new contemporary works by Rodney Chapman in acrylic and mixed media. ‰The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center will show “Ladies of the Tri-State,” notable women from the area from musicians to athletes to writers to scholars. This visual presentation and discussion by Doug Thompson will be at 6 p.m.
The museum is at 1620 Winchester Ave.
‰Music will be presented on Winchester Avenue, which will be closed for the event. Performing will be ETA at 6 p.m. and Leslie Brooks at 7:15 p.m.
‰The Jesse Stuart Foundation will continue its exhibit “Image of Appalachia,” a collection of more than 60 black-and-white photographs of eastern Kentucky and West Virginia from the 1920s and 1930s is on display.
“The Leming Gallery,” a collection of reminiscences reflected in the work of local artists. Jim Marsh, Steve McClements, Billy Kersey, Buzzy Leming and Carolina Wilson will be on display.

‰At the Pendleton Art Center, musicians Bob Mann and Kenny Salter of Huntington will perform saxophone duets ranging from classical to jazz. Artist of the month is J. Bird Cremeans, photographer and caricature artist.
‰The third annual Spring Art Show at The Thoroughbred Agency, hosted by The Upstairs Gallery, will be its opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. Clarence Ball will be the judge of the show. The show includes paintings and collages. Harp music will be provided by Aaron Yeager. Equine artist Melanie Osborne will sign giclees of her new painting of Raceland Race Track.
