Words of Thanks — 07/18/09

On behalf of the board of directors of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, thanks to all those who made our mystery dinner event a success.

Our gratitude goes to Fantastical Theatricals for their wonderful performance of “Killing Mr. Withers,” to the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center for the use of its facilities, to Bob Schaefer and the staff of Haute Stuff, Inc. for a delicious dinner, and to Shaine Miles and Chick-fil-A for the exquisite desserts.

We appreciate Lon Conley for the use of his 1972 custom undercover police car and to the First Presbyterian Church for the use of their tables, and the donation of silent auction items by CAReS and the KYOWA chapter of the Romance Writers of America. Thanks also to all our volunteer servers and committee members for their time and talent and to all those who supported our event.

Mary Crowley Martin, VISTA worker. Neighbors Helping Neighbors

For the past three years, I have been privileged to be a volunteer Greek and Spanish teacher at Calvary Christian School. It has been such a pleasure and well worth the commute to be among such a great staff of teachers, Principal Denise Wallace and the students.

Their love for the Lord, their respect for their classmates and teachers and their brilliant minds continually prove to be the students’ ongoing secret to success after graduation.

Because of other obligations, I will not be able to teach at Calvary this year and will miss being there. I am grateful to have been a part of this wonderful ministry.

Kathleen Chamis, Ashland

I thank the employees of Ashland Public Works Department for the great job they do, especially each year during Summer Motion.

This year I especially thank the crew that cleaned up around the concert area on the morning of Saturday, July 4. During Friday night’s activities, I had inadvertently lost two personal documents. Both of these were found and turned in to the director’s office.

If not for the integrity of those cleaning up, I could have easily became a victim of identity theft.

Please join me in giving the men and women of the Public Works Department the respect they deserve.

Lisa Bradway, Ashland

We thank everyone for their love, support, gifts and flowers during our time of grief following the death of Cassandra “Cassie” Neace. It was all greatly appreciated. We also thank Jesus, whose love has been priceless during this time.

Karen Neace, for the Neace family, Worthington

On June 27, nearly 200 individuals representing more than 40 Tri-State entities participated in a training session on school emergency response at the Collins Career Center.

We thank these sponsors and donors: Bill Allen, Paul Hart, Michael Boster, Eric Kuhn, Buddy Fry, HealthNet-MedFlight, Collins Career Center, Black Diamond Produce, South Hills Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Corner Cafe, Heiner’s Bread, 7-Up Bottling, Lawrence County LEPC, Life Ambulance, and Holliday’s Quick Stop.

School Districts attending the training were Rock Hill, Dawson Bryant, Symmes Valley, Ironton, Chesapeake, West Clermont and Open Door School.
