3 candidates fail immigration test

We’ve a new edition of the Three Stooges: Moe McCain, Larry Obama, and Curly Clinton.

They were part of the Senate gang that tried to legalize illegal aliens, while hoodwinking Americans into thinking this was beneficial reform. Americans weren’t fooled.

Moe McCain now pretends he “got the message.” While he still favors amnesty, he won’t push it until we have our border under control. He thinks he’s fooling people.

Larry Obama supports amnesty! While illegal immigrants were marching to pressure Congress, Obama was marching with them. Obama opposes cracking down on "sanctuary cities" that refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement. He calls himself the candidate of “hope.” His stance on illegal immigration is hopeless.

Curly Clinton is another unrepentant amnesty advocate, sanctuary city supporter, and skeptic of workplace enforcement.

Americans should tune out the presidential debates and direct their attention elsewhere, specifically to congressional races where real reformers are running.

Hogsten didn’t ignore her need

I’m writing to let people know what kind of person Paula Hogsten is.

I know her only as a professional and a community leader. When I thought no one was going to help with an important issue, I turned to our city commisioners. I reached two commissioners, Cheryl Spriggs and Paula Hogsten.

Paula listened patiently, and when she said she’d call me back with some kind of resolution, I thought I was going to get another runaround, but within minutes, Paula was on the phone to the people, getting involved and making sure I was being taken care of.

It’s been a year since then happened and Paula still calls now and then to see if I'm okay and if there’is anything she can do.

This is the kind of person we need as mayor, someone who will listen and who will be passionate about our needs.

Democrats only support failure

Foxes like slow chickens. Cats like fat mice. And our terrorist enemies must be crazy about Democrats.

What other conclusion could one possibly draw when, during last week’s debate in Philadelphia, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton pledged, as president, to withdraw troops from Iraq and surrender?

Even if our military commanders declare that withdrawal would quickly destabilize Iraq and, in effect, turn that nation's control over to terror gangs, Obama and Clinton are united: Give up. Carefully and gradually, maybe, but definitely tuck tail and give up.

Since the first shots were fired in our war on radical Islamic terrorism, Democrat leaders have done nothing but try to denigrate our troops, sabotage victory, humiliate our president, and disgrace our country. Listening to today's Democrat party is to understand that victory is not an option for America, only failure. Failure at any cost.

Ship’s veterans to meet in state

The 30th annual reunion of the USS Coral Sea CVA-43 Association will be Oct. 1-5 in Fort Mitchell. The association is open to all persons who served aboard The Coral Sea.
