Words of Thanks — 03/29/08
CAReS is very grateful to Commissioner Paula Hogsten and Greg Rice, director of Planning and Development, for the bus stop they arranged outside our new location. With a bus stop firmly in place at 25th Street and Carter Avenue, our clients have a more convenient way to reach us and access our services.
Furthermore, they will be able to leave CAReS on the 11:40 a.m. bus and still arrive at the Community Kitchen in time for their noon meal.
This will help our clients more than I can say.
Once again, we are grateful to the city and its representatives for taking such action on behalf of those we serve.
Leslie Moore, Executive director, CAReS
After heart surgery Aug. 15, 2007, my first day at the Human Motion Vitality Center at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for cardiac rehab was Sept. 15, 2007. A special thanks and recognition go to Tim O'Toole, director; Chris Crum, manager; Debbie Martin, RN BSN; Deana Allen, RN; Gretchen Newbeck-Hill, exercise physiologist; Jennifer Bayes, exercise physiologist; Mandy Webb, exercise physiologist; Jani Adkins, Meschelle Frazier and Debbie Bush, secretarial staff.
These individuals are very professional, caring, supportive and encouraged me. I give them my heartfelt thanks. I have completed cardiac rehab and am now a member of the Vitality Center. This area is very fortunate to have this facility and this dedicated staff.

On behalf of the Ashland Area Ministerial Association, I thank Centenary United Methodist Church and its pastor, Rev. Troy Poff, for hosting this year's Holy Week Services. Thanks go to Centenary’s secretary, Kristie Flowers, pianist, Ruth Allen Chaney, organist, Mildred Monk, and song leader, Loretta Stewart. The members of the congregation were tremendous hosts.
I thank the preachers, Rev. Jennifer Johnson, Pastor Stewart Schneider, Father Chip Valentine and Rev. Gene Pillow; our liturgists, Julia Maggard, Rev. Martha Rucker, Greg Rice, Rev. Phil Zimmerman and Dr. Steve Ruby were tremendous worship leaders.
The special music that lifted our hearts was provided by the First Presbyterian Chancel Choir, Rev. Larry and Debbie Sivis, Paul and Jeanette Beasley and Tom Allemang.
Each day Church Women United provided free lunches for those in attendance. The community responded with devotion to their attendance and generosity in their giving with almost $1,500 toward the ministry of the Ministerial Association.
Rev. Ike Nicholson, President AAMA, Inc.
